I recommend that Patricia V. Pestalozzi be permitted to obtain
practical training with Oracle, a company in Belmont, CA., for a
twelve month period beginning in September 1989.  Ms. Pestalozzi is
expected to complete the  M.S. degree in computer science in 
September 1989.  So far as I know, the kind of training she is seeking
is not available in Switzerland.  In the field of software development,
industrial practice leads academic research, and is best learned by
apprenticeship.
